Welcome! My name is Kirsten and I have been working in the education industry for the last past 10 years ranging from working with children with special needs to working with youth and informing them of the importance of daily school attendance. I’ve played many different roles in my profession including but not limited to storyteller, shoe tyer, conflict resolution manager and laugh distributor. What I soon realized about my profession was how rewarding it was to see the kiddos' smiles on their faces when we would have our daily encounters. I came to the realization that I was one of the very people who could help ensure that students had a good start for their school day alongside their parents. Wow, don’t we have amazing roles? I mean really how impelling is that? Think about it, the choices we parents and caregivers make in these early years will have a meaningful impact over that child's outcomes.Now I encourage you to take some time to think about it. You are raising a child that will be an inspiration to our society.
The idea that I want you to consider is that the possibilities are endless when it comes to your child! Now that we have agreed on that fact, I encourage a healthy relationship between parents and teachers. Let’s work together to make sure your child is reaching their goals.So maybe you're wondering why child care? Well I decided to go into child care because I wanted to provide a safe secondary home to families in need of services while they went to work. I had always been extremely fortunate with finding childcare providers who cared for my family as if they were their own. I remember feeling extremely anxious when dropping my children off for like the first week or so. Wondering are they crying for me? How did they slept during nap time? I wondered what children did they make a connection with? Needless to say I had a bunch of worries. But then I thought about it. The providers that watched my children were the same ones who watched me as a child so even though I had these worries deep down inside I knew they were in good hands! I instantly realized how much of a blessing it was to know that my kids were well taken care of! I began to remember when I was little and I attended daycare. I had a blast growing up as a kid! Playing outside in the garden, playing activities with my friends, and eating good food. I loved the feeling that I got knowing that my children and I had been so well taken care of during the years that helped shape us! I loved my experiences so much that I wanted to pay it forward. I wanted to create an oasis for children like my children and I had experienced. In order to do that I had to start my family based child care center. I know how imperative it is to make sure your child is safe, happy, and learning so for me this was the way to live out what I truly believe to be my life's purpose.
